THE WORLD AROUND US, January 1959, No. 5, GILBERTON WORLD-WIDE
PUBLICATIONS, INC. publisher. All rights reserved.
The above Classic comic featured a summary of space exploration as it was
understood in 1959. The artist's cover concept of the future journey to the
planets is a unique interpretaiion. Note the planet depicted appears to be
Jupiter's body with the ring structure of Saturn. Interesting!
Additionally, the astronauts wrestle with a cumbersome teather system which
has the potential of considerable entanglement. Noteworthy are the two
spacemen in the foreground who seem to be anchored to the spaceship by
gravity while the remaining astronauts float in a zero-g environment.
