GALLERY OF SPACE BOOKS (HARD COVERS)
DISCUSSION
Though Apollo astronauts were not selected for their ability as authors, the
published books and articles regarding their space history exploits are very
well written. The "first hand" account which only they can render makes
their works considerably more interesting than those authored by
"on-lookers" of historic events in space exploration. In defense of
professional authors and ghostwriters, those works written in collaboration
with trained experienced writers and the astronauts are equally compelling.
Among these is FIRST ON THE MOON A VOYAGE WITH NEIL ARMSTRONG, MICHAEL
COLLINS, AND EDWIN E. ALDRIN, JR. written with Gene Farmer and Dora Jane
Hamblin, copyright 1970 by Little Brown and Company, Inc.
