During the pioneer era of manned space exploration, thousands of internal
technical documents detailed the design, functions, and characteristics of
all
facets of manned spacecraft, boosters, and related systems. These artifacts
remain fascinating reminders of an historic era.
The above technical functional schematic is a General Electric Corporation
diagram of the caution and warning system of the Apollo command module
spacecraft. The lower portion of the sketch shows the warning lights
positioned on the astronaut display panels.
