THE SPACE EAGLE OPERATION STAR VOYAGE by Jack Pearl with illustrations by Arnie Kohn was published by the Western Publishing Company. The story was based upon characters and settings created by RAYMOND J. MEURER who "proudly dedicated the book to the children of the heroic astronauts of APOLLO 11."

The propulsion system of the pictured spaceship is a "Space Warp Infinity Finity Transport" or S.W.I.F.T. for short. The Space Eagle is the tale's hero. His spacecraft uses a one-of-a-kind S.W.I.F.T. drive. Of course, Einstein's theory of relativity would be violated by the S.W.I.F.T., but such a technology is essential for a plot which includes trips to the stars.

Books authored after Neil Armstrong's landing of the Eagle on the Moon often included the name EAGLE in their titles as the names of vehicles or characters. The bird's characteristics are especially appropriate to a spacecraft: its high flight and majestic appearance.
