THE SPACE EDUCATORS' HANDBOOK
SKYLAB ARCHIVE GALLERY (MORE ARTIFACTS)
The above photo is of an exhibit at Space Center Houston.
The pictured scene is the interior of the Skylab Orbital Workshop (OWS) mockup
trainer which Skylab crews utilized for training. Skylab was America's
first space station. It utilized the body of the Apollo S-IVB booster
stage of the Saturn V moon rocket. Ferrying of crews to and from
Skylab was accomplished with the Apollo command module spacecraft.
Above is another photo of the Skylab Space Center Houston exhibit of the
trainer used to prepare Skylab astronauts for their missions.
Can you explain the apparent weightlessness of the astronaut in the photo?
